Sunday Funday

Tonight was a good night. Last night was a good night.  Maybe because I didn’t bring my camera (it’s heavy) or maybe because my phone is forever dying.  Either way-I enjoyed some quality time with myself (and Anna)…and reached a whole new level of creepy with Anna tonight…but what else is new.

Anywho-I haven’t had a workout week in review lately because honestly the last few weeks that I could have done it, it just reminds me that I can’t run so I get very flustered when I look back at previous weeks and see how much I ran and that is now cut down to 0.

If that makes sense.

But I have been working extremely hard in the gym so I think I should at least admit that to myself and need to realize that my cardio base is not completely gone (running wise anyways).  What I haven’t been doing in running, I have been doing in elliptical to at least get my base of cardio in.

Arctrainer: 7.5 hours

Weight lifting: 3 sessions (this is a big step for me)

Swimming 2 hours

My goal for next week is to maintain my happiness and optimism and continue whatever it is that I’m doing.  I guess I’ll call it cross training and if I do it in spandex and on my toes it’s like I’m running like a whackass ostrich.  I mean.  Running.

Yesterday at work (because it was storming) aDuBs and I decided it would be appropriate  to be mermaids in the pool.  Want to come work for me?

I even cleaned off the bottom.

How I managed to creep from so far baffles my mind.

Well that is all I got for ya.  Clearly my weekend was filled with adventure.  I needed something low key I guess you could say and it was the

peace out blogging besties. Happy Monday tomorrow. 🙂

Question for you:

1.      What sort of workouts did you do this week?  What do you have planned next week?

  1. haha i love this Hollie- esp the pictures where your creeping 😉 I def need to get my butt into gear and get to the gym! eeks! I want to get the Kettle Bell work out back in my routine- it kicks my butt every time but it’s so fabulous! xo

  2. Right now? No workouts, we’re moving and I think my foot is injured and has been for the last 5 ish weeks. 🙁 This coming week is all moving too! Hope you have a better week planned than me, at least more fun!

  3. I love the pool pictures! Glad you and Adubs had an awesome time :).

I have definitely taken it easy this week and took two full days off, but I managed to lift a few times and do CrossFit :).

  4. You might not be running, but over 10 hours of working out is still something to be proud of girl!

I’ve been doing about 3-4 weight lifting sessions a week and a lot of incline walking and light jogging on a medium incline. I also hung out on the stationary bike one of my workout days because I wanted to read.

This week I’m going to get my booty moving a lot before I head to vacation on Thursday morning at 6AM!

  5. Ha cleaning the pool floor? Funnnn… And way to go on the strength training Holz! So important TO PREVENT INJURY! Ever thought about maybe thats what aided to your injury? Haha I’m not calling you out, don’t get that idea! I’m just trying to throw out some ideas.

My swim was soo long today… especially when I didn’t know where the end was so it just kept going and going… lol But I’m alive!

  6. Amazing underwater pics! Lazy day at work!
Don’t be disheartened that you haven’t been able to do as much cardio workouts. The cross training you’ve been doing will build endurance and improve your overall performance 🙂

Optimism & Happiness in whatever you do = Perfect goal for the week 🙂

  7. Cool underwater pics. And I know how you feel about the running but you’ve been staying active and will be able to transition back to your routine after recovery. Hang in there.

  8. I’m glad you had a nice weekend! You will bounce back into running no time with your level of fitness. I’ll get a post out one of these days with the workouts I’ve been doing.

  9. Hhaha those pictures are great, love the one of your creepin…nice work 🙂
You are in such good shape that you will get back into running quite fast, as soon as you are able to! Just keep hanging in there

  10. You are a superstar with all the Arc training to keep your fitness up! As someone who is injured more often than not I know how you feel,& your goal of keeping happiness and enthusiasm is crucial and awesome.
Do you have any ellpitical /Arc trainer tips? I like to do different routines and not use the handles on the machines- i do like a running motion with my arms, probably look craaaazy.
Glad you had a nice weekend

  11. I love the last pool picture with the bubble coming out of your nose. Awesome.

Workouts for this week: Sun: 4K race, Mon: lift, Tues: run, Wed: run, Thu/Fri/Sat: no clue, we’re on vacation, if I run that is great, but if not no big deal!

  12. I definitttttely know how you feel about talking/reading about running workouts. I got surgery 6 weeks ago and didn’t run for about a month before that so I am going crazy!

My workouts have consisted of lifting, swimming, and I’m just starting for elliptical/biking but it seems to be making my knee worse instead of better. 🙁

The worst part about having an injury is how you treat everyone around you (atleast for me, anyway). I seem to get aggravated at the person saying about running, etc. when they didn’t do anything and it’s my own fault I ran myself into injury.

  13. I haven’t had any workouts in the past week. But this week I am going to work on getting my butt back into working out. Fall semester is right around the corner and guess who has to take a gym class? Yup, this girl. So I should really start doing some sort of workout until school starts so I don’t look like a total loser once gym class starts.

  14. underwater pictures are the coolest! we used to use our camera when we lived in hawaii to capture all the cool fish! sorry to hear about your running but I think your body will be happy. I aqua jogged 3x last week. Phew!

  16. I want to come over and give you a hughjass hug because I’ve been there. But you will run again, and you will kick ass again. It feels like it’s going to be forever until that time comes, but it’ll get here and you’ll be thinking “holy shiz remember when I couldn’t run?” because things will be good again! Everyone trips and falls in their training at some point and you’ll be back up soon enough. You’ve definitely maintained fitness because you’re working so hard at it. Stay strong.
