All Aboard USS Cray Cray

Where have I been?  I know sometimes you just want to creep into my life and see what’s up.  I can’t be training all the time I suppose.   Incase you are a new follower I am the first captain of USS Cray Cray.  The conductor of the Cray Cray Express.  You get the idea…

This blog is 100% random like my mind.  I don’t apologize.

I have been providing amusement by taking mirror shots of a mirror shot.  I hope someone finds this as amusing as me. If not I guess this will be rather embarrassing no?

The reversible feature of the iPhone is hands down my favorite part (besides my capability to walk and stalk)

I guess this goes into training but my friend Theresa and I ran a 10 mile run the other day.  I love running with friends!  I love running with T!  She is so awesome, we used to work together back when I was in high school and before we both started running.

Moving on-I’ve been out with aDuBs as well!  I know-I’ve missed her on the blog too.  So get in my life and drop out of school,  Anna!  I kid of course.  Just to catch you up on her life, Anna got Lasik eye surgery and now never needs to wear glasses again.  Cool yes?  Yes, I thought so too.

Moving on.

I’ve spent my time painting.

a quite tedious work in progress. I'm about one third of the way done.

And tie dying shirts because I found a fit in my room and had nothing better to do.

yellow and orange are the best tie dye color combos because everything else I try looks like vomit.

And reading.  I read a biography of JFK and Daniel’s running formula.  I think I might right an overview of Daniel’s running formula but I’ll just say now it’s a FANTASTIC read and if you want to improve your running.  Read it.

That is about it.  When I’m at home, I don’t have a lot of exciting things.  I don’t apologize because I would rather spend time with my friends and family than go out every night.

Question for you:

  1. 1.       What do you like to do outside of blogging or working out?
  2. 2.      Want to give me sweet tie dye technique tips?  ha!

I love to paint!

Dresses Dresses Everywhere!

Wow, thank you guys for your support of my paintings. I was kind of afraid to put them up because after my stick drawing from two days ago you may wonder. I like to paint animals personally, some cutesy and some fierce. My cat means the world to me which is why I started off with her.

Now I’m on too fish.

This is what I painted all night last night. Yes, I did paint a fish on Saturday night and do you know what else? I stayed up later then when I go out. I’m not quite done yet, but it was so relaxing for me to just sit there and paint (considering it was a rather eventful night ha).

Since I have been in a waffle craze lately, I decided to make some pancakes instead. It took me a few seconds to decide which kind I wanted to make but then Julie came to my rescue with pink pancake mix bought at Wal-Mart. It’s a special for Valentine’s Day I would assume. So in short they were delicious and tasted like normal chocolate chip pancakes. So go buy them and be festive.

Topped with Chobani greek yogurt and syrup. YES!

I had gotten myself all excited to go and run some miles on the treadmill today and do you know what happened? They were closed. Closed. It’s the first day back for most of the students and the gym is closed? They start their normal semester hours tomorrow. For those who wondered, it felt like -20 today outside and this girl was not feeling a run in that.

In short, my school obviously supports being healthy.

The casino today was quite depressing. I lost the 20 dollars that I brought to use. I gave myself a limit of 20 because I’m not going to the be that girl who just keeps spending. Think of all the pancake mix that I could buy with that. Oh well-it was still a humorous time. Julie and I went to the mall afterwards and I got some nice walking around campus shoes. When I’m not wearing uggs or my baby newtons I don’t really have a pair of shoes I can walk around in and these were perfect. I also got another new cookbook titled “The Student’s Cookbook.”

For dinner I made an egg, chicken, spinach, tomatoes and mushrooms scramble. Incase you wondered, I sauteed the spinach added the tomatoes and mushrooms. After they were all cooked I added one egg and 1/2 cup egg whites and wa laa.

Topped with some red pepper and hot sauce. NOM NOM NOM

Well I’m laying in bed relaxing and watching mean girls 2 tonight.
Anyone else?

On a side note. Guess what begins tomorrow?

2 Swim Meets=2 Waffles

Oh swim meet recap, where to begin.
First thank you all my blogging friends for my well wishes and good luck at my meet. You guys are too cute.

Well my blogging friends, I have officially decided that this was one of my downward seasons of swimming. In everything you do, you have good days, you have bad days, you have good years and you have bad years. This was one of the bad years.

Did I have still have a lot of fun and enjoy swimming? YES! Did I add close to a minute on my pr for the 1000? YES! Either way, I had a good time with my friends or do not regret cross country whats so ever. (Once the meet pictures are posted to our team site, I will steal some and add them to my blog)

In response to Chuck’s question: How do you stay loose and warmed up during a swim meet?

Well, we have warm-ups 4 hours before the meet and I do about 2000 yards during that period. Then I leave read my blogs, chill, do whatever until the meet. Then about an hour before the meet, we have second warm-ups which I do about 1000 yards at. This includes a variety of things normally about 300 warmup, 4X100 sprints and then some 25s of the blocks. There are two warmup periods during the meet as well. One between my 1000 and 500 and one actually right after my 500. I normally don’t swim anything after my 500, so I get to cooldown. This meet was different, however, that I had to anchor some relays at the end of the meet. During the in meet warmup, I do about 200 yards. In total, I end up doing about 5000 yards during a typical swim meet.

——————-

I had some different breakfast foods before my meet. I told you earlier, I have been obsessed with my waffle maker currently. So that is what I had. On Friday morning, I had a blueberry waffle and topped it with Chobani yogurt nom nom nom.

For dinner I had Quiznos. My 300 dollar eating spree is up, so now I’ll have to prepare my own food again. Oh boo.

Friday night was filled with watching Say Yes to the Dress and Four Weddings. I have now figured out that the wedding dress I want is obviously this one.

I’ll be waiting at the church at the end of aisle if I have any takers that will marry me in this dress at 4pm on Sunday.

Saturday morning was filled with a nice pear waffle. Pear waffle you ask? I cooked the pears in the microwave after adding some cinnamon and apple spice and sweetener for 1 minute. Then added them to the mix and put into my waffle maker. Since pears are quite large, I also had extra so I just threw it on top.

Saturday night I made crab cakes and veggies. I literally just steamed about three and a half cups of veggies and ate them. Needless to say, I got my fruit and veggies of the day (which was one of my New Year’s Resolutions…) Since I am such the simple gal, I had bought these crab cake pattys already and slapped them on the grill. George Foreman grills have certainly saved my cooking a little bit.

Veggie champ!

Day 4 A picture of you looking Goth.
For Halloween in high school, I was supposed to be a Goth girl. I don’t really think I did any justice but I tried hard. This was one of 7 Halloween parties I went to that year. I was something different for every single party. I went to 1 Halloween party freshman year of college, none sophomore year and one this year. Ha.

Question for you:
What is your favorite style of wedding dress?
What do you do to pass time?

Incase you wondered how I passing my time being in a college town with no classes...neither of these are done yet so I have something to do.
