QUICHE FOR BREAKFAST?!

Since I’m really avoiding packing my car right now I’ll do some good ole blogging.

My day started at around midnight this morning…but that is another story left for my twitter.  Really it started around 8am.  I was going to go for a run before my final-but alas I was too tired and don’t have too much else to do today besides my coaching portfolio and final.

For Breakfast today, I actually had a quiche and yogurt.  Kelsey asked if I wanted to get breakfast on campus and I thought ya know why not…I haven’t really all semester.  I suppose my body was rather confused since I normally have that for lunch but it was nom.com either way.  Veggie quiches are my favorite so I was rather pleased.

Burnt and crusty. My favorite (You think I'm joking...)

It stopped raining for a hot second so I decided to run for nine miles in the humidity which was nice.  I really need a break from the gym right now and couldn’t bare to run on the dreadmill.  When I came back from my run, all of my housemates had moved out.  So I am all by myself for the next 24 hours.  Blech.

So I made these pancakes.  Nom.com.  Sweet potato pancakes are actually my choice of pancakes before any cross country race or swim meet.  Don’t ask why because my mind couldn’t tell you…it just demands what it demands.

Sweet tater with cranberry jam.

Seriously make these now.  I actually have a hot dinner date tonight at First Crush tonight with zee bestie.  Nomtastic.

Oh yes and this is my last Vlog for a while (unless you find them more entertaining then text)  But it is my thoughts of America’s Next Top Model Season Finale.  That way, my male blogging besties (and females who that isn’t their jive) wouldn’t have to go through an entire post of boredom.

Question for you:

1.       Do you enjoy doing Vlogs?

The Bomb.Com of Days

Let me tell you blogging world.  I don’t normally brag about how I had an amazing day and this certainly isn’t the greatest day of my life but it was extremely good.

First I woke up this morning and noticed three things were lacking, my knees didn’t hurt, my swimmers ear was gone and my head cold from changing climates (somehow southern VA and Norther n NY don’t have the same weather) had gone away.

So I was already overjoyed.  Then after checking my mail, I received a package from Kaila@Healthy Helper Blog full of bars.   She is either awesomesauce or psychic because there are about 1000 bars in here (did I mention I’m a bar whore?)

Thanks Kaila!

Today I ran 9 miles in the heat of Upstate.  I was able to run not only in a tank top but spandex as well.  Go figure.  Well when I got back, I was terribly hot.  I ran in the same outfit I’ll wearing at Flower City to make sure no chafing and burns would occur.  Last long run until Sunday.

I apologize in advance that I thought it was acceptable to take photos with giant sweat marks.

Yes I drink 2 pitchers of this daily. (From target Strawberry-Orange-Banana drink packets are the bomb.com)

But not really from the container...

It was also Christmas because my compression sleeves came in.

I did shower and put on real girl clothes today I swear!

Today I promised Kelsey I would take her out to dinner at Lobster hours so that is what we did (because her birthday was a week ago).  Other then the beautiful weather, the easy going classes and delicious noms, it was a rather uneventful (but amazing day).

What I ate Wednesday:

I have never participated in this trend and very rarely even post half of my eats of the day.  But just for you guys-I’m diving right in.

For breakfast today, I decided to amuse you with cinnamon French toast bagel thins.  I don’t really keep bread in the house because I don’t eat sandwiches and when I do..I have two pieces and the rest goes bad.  So basically buy a loaf for the one time a month I’ll eat a sandwich.

I make my cinnamon raisin French toast bagels like normal French toast then top with chocolate peanut butter.  Yes it is nomtastic.  What is your favorite type of peanut butter?

For lunch, Kelsey and I went to the dining hall.  Seriously, how she puts up with me so much is beyond me.  I’m trying to use the meals and so is she so it works out well.  I had a salad with mixed dark greens, strawberries, oranges, olives, blue cheese, and banana peppers.

I also had a flatbread sandwich with roast beef, spinach, tomatoes, mozerella cheese and crushed red peppers.

Then for dinner I had catfish, a baked potato and this salsa that comes with the catfish.

Doesn't this tater look like Mr. Potato Head? I almost couldn't eat it...

And cake batter ice-cream (which is not chocolate so I’m okay.)

Why they gave me two spoons...I don't know.

Speaking of the chocolate project-I’m at day 8 now and I haven’t craved any candy bars or pure sugars of any kind.  Although I would like a rather large piece of cake but that will have to weight.

Well loves I’m off to watch America’s Next Top Model :)

Question for you:

Why was your day awesome?

So.Much.Dessert=No Problems For this Girl

I do not make my own crab cakes.  I buy them from the store, but making them would be awesome and I’ll have to look into that.  I mean how hard can making a mushy blob of crab be?

Anywho since I finally tried Kale last night and was rather healthy, I found it acceptable to have my favorite comfort food this morning all day:

Dark chocolate orange pancakes, they were delicious and that is why they continue to be my favorite.  But don’t tell spinach bacon waffle-he might be a lil jealz.  I seriously love the bitterness of dark chocolate paired with the tartness of orange.

For lunch today, there was some special going on at our dining hall called the Easter Bunny Hop and I was secretly hoping all the dining hall employees were dressed like giant bunnies.  Sadly that was not the case but one can only hope for so much.  I begged my lunch dates Justin and Kelsey to allow us to venture from quiche (even though I’m the only one who gets quiche…) to go see what the Bunny Hop was all about.

I got my typical foods there but Kelsey and I did split a piece of carrot cake and it was good.  Normally our all you can eat buffet features hard crusty cakes-but today it was delicious.

Kelsey accepts that I'm going to take photos even after a fork has been put

Then for dinner, as if Kelsey couldn’t get enough of me we went to First Crush again.  I’m really obsessed with this place and seriously, their salads are awesome sauce.  My salad had grilled chicken, mixed springs, cranberries with a vinaigrette dressing.

Kelsey got the brie Panini, filled with cranberry, turkey and smoked chedder cheese.

Then because my sweet tooth was clearly satisfied, we got the crème Brule bread pudding which I had had my eye on for quite some time (aka since last week).  It was seriously good-if you will send me some bread pudding (and kale) for my birthday we will be in love forever.

If you visit me-I'll take you here and we can just bread pudding

In the workout end for me today, I had to run on the beloved dreadmill because it was pouring rain.  Since the Tyra show was on at 3, I found I could actually focus for the entire 7 miles.   I had done an hour of Arctrainer beforehand, so it was a pretty intense day for this girl.

—————–

As you know, my favorite show is on tonight.   America’s Next Top Model.  I am hoping that my favorite Brittany doesn’t go home tonight since the preview has been hinting at it.  If she does, I guess I can sub in and be America’s Next Top Model.  As if you need to see my face in more place such as magazines and billboards ha.

ANTM=painting nails time.

Questions for you:

1.       Do you like to make big  pancakes or lots of small ones?

I personally like one big one.  Sometimes I make little baby ones too but I guess it all depends on my moon.  So big ones normally or big one.

2.       Favorite dessert ever?

Feta Cheese and Starbucks

Fun Fact of Friday: I actually am not a fan of American Eagle jeans at all. They don’t fit me right-that or Hollister brand either.  So I went against the grain of most of ya.  Let me tell you about the Hollister pair, I have sitting at home-they are a “ripped skinny jeans” style I have are literally too loose in the waist, perfect in my thighs and then so tight in my calves it takes about 10 minutes to put them on.  So strange and AE jeans are just not cut for me.

I don’t want to get your hopes or anything but I was a real girl two days in a row. The last time I wore two pairs of DIFFERENT jeans two days in a row…um maybe last summer but I’m not entirely sure.  Maybe in high school.   I like to live my life in leggings and one day I will have to grow out of that but I still have another year of college at least.

(def Real Girl-noun-wearing clothing other than leggings or yoga pants and also taking a shower.  Looking presentable to society.)

To go along with more Factual Friday things, which if you want to submit something please email me [lolzthatswim@gmail.com].  If you have no clue what I’m talking about click here.  To clarify-anything you find inspiring or important in your life qualifies, and I would love for each and every one of you to be featured because I love reading about ya.  I would like to get the ball rolling next Friday so the sooner the better!  :)

Today Kelsey and I went to a lovely restaurant in my town, First Crush, that I had never actually been too.  Can you seriously believe that there is a restaurant in my tiny town that I haven’t been too?  It’s similar to a coffee shop and they have a lot of vegan options along with a multitude of fish and salads.

I actually got a salad today because I have been having a strange craving for salads (bleu cheese).  We split a chocolate fondue but sadly my camera died for that portion.  Never fear-we are going to become regulars here too and go back on Wednesday.

I love me some feta cheese with cranberries and spinach

Plus I just found out they serve Starbucks coffee. That is the closest place within 60 miles of me.  Right near campus-how lucky and how could I not have known in the last three years I have gone to school here.

I may have gotten another cup to go...

———–

I may or may not have mentioned but Kelsey is a member of my swim team and we have swam distance together for two lovely years now. You could say we were kind of the core of the distance squad.  Of course during grueling practices, you are going to become close with someone.  I have been the closest with Kelsey for the longest out of anyone at school so it’s nice to just hang out.  She is kind of like my twinnie and doesn’t feel it necessary to go out all day every day.  Or actually really at all.

Here are some random photos:

We love the mile at championships (last year)

I clearily take attractive photos underwater in Puerto Rico

We are seat buddies to the max on bus rides.

& 99% of the time we only go out to parties with each other.

So that is how Kelsey and I roll.

Questions for you:
1.       Starbucks YAY or NAY?
I like plain coffee from starbucks, I’m actually not a big latte, cappuccino, or all that jazz fan but I do love the intense flavor of starbucks.
2.       Talk to me about your BFFS.
