PMB

Hello blog friends!  I can’t believe how many people are liking my facebook page.  I know 40 is not a lot but for me, I’m super jazzed.  That should really be my brag.  Look mom, I have 40 friends!  I do have to say when my mom’s doll clothes company liked me, I got really excited.  You guys know how close I am with my family.

Welcome to another week of Physical, mental and brags.  As the weather decides to be a bit friendlier towards my life, I find it a lot easier to find positivity.  I know a lot of people complain about the cold and I can honestly say I’m one of them.

pbm

But there are fun things to do in the cold.

Physical: Physically, I’m SLOWLY started to notice a change in my core and ab strength.  Though I haven’t been exactly the most consistent and best core worker..I have been doing it daily and I’m slowly starting to see a change in my abs.  Am I working on core strength to get ripped? NO, but it’s always nice.

Mental: Mentally.  I am going to point blank tell you…I love my job.  If you could pick up the center that I work, move it to somewhere closer to my family and Tim, I’d be living the dream.  I wish it didn’t come down to that though.

Brag: I am now living on a budget.  Let me tell you (I’m telling you a lot of things right?)…for someone who didn’t have a lot during college (yes I worked my butt of high school and summer so that I didn’t have to WORRY about money during actual college years) this is rough.  Considering my savings is slowly decreasing I am really learning to budget.  I am learning that buying everything on sale, coupons and REFILLABLE coffee mugs are the way to go.  (Yes, I treat myself to gas station coffees).  Not the starbucks $4 cappuccinos but I still treat myself occasionally.  I was never an excessive spender, but now more then ever I’m more weary of my spending habits.

I’m learning sometimes you do have to say no if it’s nothing something you are interested in.   For those interested, I use the spending app on iphone and it is seriously amazing. I track everything.

I apologize for the lack of photos…I had nothing that related and I’m not taking pictures of my stomach and abs.

Question for you:  What are your PMB’s of the week?

  1. That spending app might be my saving grace! I HATE being on a budget too, but I’ve gotten the point where I have to be. Wahh.
Glad you love your job though! Such a good feeling :)

  2. It’s always nice to start seeing a little definition in muscles after working them for awhile. I know I enjoy it. And finally having to worry about a budget- I’m not looking forward to that. It’s not that far away though! Scary thought…. I’m going to be a real person soon.

  3. Funny that you mention the weather being better…I was watching weather channel and saw that upstate NY is supposed to get nailed with snow soon! Does that include you? I can understand the job/location debacle, frustrating. We constantly have that issue in our household. Nice work on budgeting and with the core work girl!

  4. Cracked up at the facebook shpeel. I would ‘like’ you, but I honestly have no idea how to – I’m not even sure I can like pages since I didn’t create a personal one for my blog. I’m such a noob when it comes to FB that it’s not even funny

Budgetting, on the other hand, is something I can say that I do pretty well when I have to (heavy emphasis on “when I have to”). When I was saving up to buy my own place, I lived at home, hardly went out to party/have fun, aaaand basically put every cent I could into savings. It was a rough few years, but totally worth it.

    • You can like it from personal pages or from community pages. LOL, I totally understand either way. I just use it to collect various memes and funny posts and occasionally link blog entries (when I get overzealous).

I’m hoping budgeting will be totally worth it!

  5. I seriously need to get on the whole core strength train. I do core strength in body pump and sometimes after my workouts .. but I stick with the stuff that I deem safe…. for example…. I suck at the plank. I need to start some type of plank challenge for myself. However, saying that I will say that I have felt my core get much tighter with the increase in body pump classes and it is hopefully helping in running?!? I don’t know.

The budgeting thing sucks… but its great that you are working with it… we are still young, its great to get these things under our belts now! The annoying thing with me is I never splurge on anything like clothes etc. but food and drink… ridiculous. I spend way too much money at the supermarket and on drinks everyday… I need to stop buying teas and lattes and chewing gum – that is my goal for this month!

I’m gonna like you on FB girl.

  6. ah thank you for the spending app, I need to utilize that, I am on a budget all the time! I am sooo happy you love your job, I think it is soo important, hoping one day I will feel the same about my job!

  7. That’s awesome that you’re loving your job! It definitely makes the time in the office go by more quickly when you enjoy what you’re doing. :) My physical and brag are joined this week–I’m surviving the first week of post-recovery week workouts, lol. Although there is that time trial tomorrow, so I probably just jinxed myself. ;)

  8. I understand you on budgeting. I’m glad that as a college graduate you actually do it and know how… I know some recent grads who are struggling to make ends meet because they blow their money on going out a lot. It’s tough because I see other people doing things I can’t sometimes and have to remember that I’m saving for a house and sometimes I think people really need to think about saving and for the future, at least paying off debt, etc.

I’m glad your core workouts are working for you :) . Plus it’s always easier to do dreaded workouts once you see the effects :)

  9. oh my gosh you have turned into me. since living on my own I now track all my spendings and have been saving like whoa. coupons are a girls best friend now. and congrats on your core strength, I still have yet to check out those nike app workouts. I need to get on that. I have to say though I am noticing a lot more strength in my core from bbbc.

  10. Love this. I’m so not excited for the whole college-budget thing coming up here soon. Ahhh well.. I too have been doing some daily ab workouts and I’m the same way- I will never have ripped abs, but it just feels good!

  11. I am embarrassed by how much money I have to my name. I haven’t been able to get a full-time job so I’m doing this small tutoring thing on the side. Lets just say I rely on my parents WAY too much. Thankfully, I have them. It’s terrible to be 23 and shit broke. AH fuck

  12. I love budgeting. I don’t need to right now (which I am thankful for) but I try to do it anyway because it’s a good habit to have!! This week I am loving my mentality. I have had so much positivity it’s about fucking time!

  13. I am with you on budgeting after college! It’s super scary. Paying bills is not fun and is been a year of all kinds of adjustments! ah. this week I”m loving getting myself on the treadmill 2 times this week for some good speed workouts. I’ve been a wimp in the cold this week yuck!

  14. I’m am going to need to get that spending app…When I graduate in the spring I KNOW that life is going to get rather expensive so I want to try to get in the habit of budgeting before then. I’m curious, is it just called the “spending app”?

  15. Three cheers to no abs pictures!! Amazing PMB … but I’m a bit biased because mine would be virtually the same (adding in being proud of my legs as well under the physical and obviously I like my job where it is, though I’m sure that being near your family and Tim would treat me well too! Kidding). Seriously though, when did we become adults? I can’t believe this is my life now and that I’m grown-up. Child-like spirit is still abundant, but hey, real life happens too.
Also under mental, I think we should both give ourselves shout-outs for learning from those who we work with. Your comment on my blog today touched my heart. As long as we can take away lessons from those around us, we’ll always continue to learn.

  16. Wow job wise, story of my life! Amazing job, not so amazing location.

Have you heard of Mint.com? It is beyond simple and absolutely amazing, it breaks everything down for you!

  17. Oh i feel ya on the budgeting! I wish I had the iPhone so I could get that app, I think it would help me a lot. This week my task was to map out exactly how much I spend on a weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly basis….yeah I will be buying the cheap shampoo and NOT picking up extra random things when I go to Target I suppose! glad your’e loving the job too, that if anything makes winter in the arctic tundra MUCH more bearable.

  18. Isn’t it crazy how much things cost when you add everything up? What app is that? I could really use that to start practicing budgeting better now for a year from now when I begin to be on my own! I am so glad you love your job girl :D I have to say loving doing what you do daily is a requirement in my book!
