PMB

I’m running out of brags for myself.  LOL, a lot has happened in the last week involving me running on little to no sleep.  I need at least 8 hours to be life functional…I don’t even pretend I can be in a good mood on anything less.

Physical: Physically, I have been a hot mess. I can’t really brag about that though…in the positivity post of the week.  Anyways- I am still really basking in the photos I got done.  That might make me sound cocky but I really think they turned out so well.

Mental: It’s hard to start a new training program and not know where it will take you.  That is what starts for me very soon.  I’m just maintaining a base and starting weight lifting.  I’ll probably be sore. It’s also hard when you feel like you are burning the candle at 12 ends (because I was a physics major) but really you aren’t. Some days I’m super busy..some days I’m not. I’ll complain…but we got to do what we got to do…I guess.

Brag: I’m starting to get my routine down packed.  I am a very routine person and I like that. I have started to get my routine down pact and I know when I need to go to bed and wake up to be most efficient.  You heard? My other brag was that I somehow napped for over 4 hours last Saturday as still able to sleep at 9pm.

So with that this PMB is somewhat shorter.  To summarize I’m starting to adjust to the cold and back to work but it’s certainly a hard adjustment.  I’m okay with letting myself sleep versus going outdoors and running…it’s cold and I’m tired.  I won’t deny that fact.  Here is the part where you tell me awesome job for listening to my body…

Question for you: What are your PMB’s this week?

  1. I’d be bragging for months if I had pictures like that! They came out sooooo good. Great job listening to your body ;) hahahhaha just kidding, good job with the base building and getting in those miles on the dreadmill. It’s something I’m not sure i’d be able to do day in and day out. At least you got to get outside a couple of times this week!
I think a lot of us have trouble with adjustment. So you are definitelyyy not alone in that.

  2. I’m such a routine person too–it feels so good to figure out your schedule! My physical and mental are joined this week. So far, I’ve successfully embraced my recovery week without going nuts, lol. Things have started to click for me, so it was difficult to back off the intensity, but I know it’s a better move in the long run. Not sure if this is really a brag, but I turn 23 next week–ekkk!

  3. I’m a total routine person too, and I’m finally getting back into mine. I also am a total crank if I don’t get at least 8 hours…which most of the time means bed by 10. I’m a grandma! I can’t wait to hear more about your training…I’ll be stalking your DM per usual :)

  4. I’m a routine person too, but I also love change. It’s very confusing for me. I need at least 8 hours of sleep too…how do other people get by on like 5? Love that picture :)

  5. Here’s the part where I tell you good job for being smart ;) And I’d be bragging too if I had pictures like that – they all came out looking gorgeous. I’m a non-functional wreck when I don’t get enough sleep. I stop caring about everything and get ridiculously snarky for no reason. Hope some rest comes your way soon!

  6. LOVE the picture! Absolutely stunning! I’m glad you’re finding your routine. I, like you am a routine person, and shift work and floating totally screws that up, but I’m ok with it because I’m learning to become more flexible!

  7. I’m noticeably getting stronger and faster with all my training (P) even though I feel like I’m never caught up(m). I like routine, but lately my life has been nothing but a whirlwind of changes and ironically I’m adjusting to that. (b)

love the pics you got done! I’d be posting them everywhere possible ha! I mustget at least 7 hr of sleep and at least 1 cup of coffee before I’m allowed to speak to anyone. for their sake.

  8. Like almost everyone else that commented – I’m a huge routine person. I’d like to think that I can take spontaneity when it comes, but I’d rather just know what to expect.

And you should be bragging about those pictures – they’re great!

  9. I love that dress, very summery!! Routine is KEY for me!! ESPECIALLY my morning routine of coffee and pooooo! Vivid details for you, but so key in my daily life. HAhahaha.

  10. Totally keep bragging about your pictures; you’re gorgeous and so are they!! Hope you find your grove soon. I guess a brag for me is that I {finally} noticed a baby bicep developing. It’s the small things in life that make me happy.

  11. Well aren’t you awesome for being smart ;) I have to be honest I LIKE 8 hours of sleep but as the semester picks up I will learn to run on about 5 hours… Life of a college student doing a lot more than just college. I think it is great you are loving your pictures, they are beautiful, were probably super fun to do and it is awesome that you think (and I agree) that they are awesome. I feel you mentally. I too know I am burning the candle at both ends and there will be a time when I burn out. I hoping my candle times it so that is when spring break hits! I still don’t have a real routine and probably won’t until like May… O well it teaches me to roll with the punches. I do like a routine though and there are some things that are non-negotiable, like getting up and doing ab work, stretching, and eating a good breakfast in my home. It is my me time and makes my day a little brighter

    • I agree, right now (at an unstressful week) it’s pretty easy to get 8 hours as needed. I don’t have to wait for anyone and can go to bed when I need to go to bed. Hope everything stays that way for you as well!

  12. Gorgeous photo! Routine is key for me. I’m so type A and I really can’t handle spontaneity. Haha. I have some big changes coming my way and so my life has been very non-routine lately but I’m hoping I’ll settle in soon enough. Going to bed super early is my favorite thing to do- particularly on the weekends. Clearly I’m so exciting.

  13. You are a babe. Tim is one lucky fella!
Like 99% of everyone, I love LOVE love a routine. The first couple weeks of the semester acts as a nice “play” time to see what works and what doesn’t. For instance, today I only ran 4.5ish miles inside & cross trained…see how I feel tomorrow haha. Hope you get yours down soon.

  14. I like these posts because it shows that even when life doesn’t go exactly as planned and you have a less than ideal week, you can still find positives! Keep it going girl! Also, what were the pictures for?! I am dying to know the secret! LOL

  15. ROUTINE FTW!! so necessary. And I feel ya on the new training plan thing, it’s hard to move from what’s tried and true, especially when you get nervous about injury….but it’s the only way to improve! base fitness + lifting sounds solid to me, I know you’re smart about such things.
