Love yourself with PMB

Love yourself with PMB is a time where you can talk about something you love about yourself physically, mentally and then brag.  We all have something we should be proud of and there is no need to be hard on ourselves.  So with that, I’ve created a fun sort of Thursday post complete with a cute little graphic.  So please link up-it’s like we can all be friends.  ;)

This week physically I love my feet.  Okay that seems a bit odd considering I’m rather injured with my feet being the primary issue.  At my appointment with my podiatrist on Tuesday I said Geez, I have been trying to hide my feet because I think they look so gross.  (missed toenails, weirdly shaped…typical runners feet) and he said, “Hollie your feet were carrying you 90 miles a week…how can you not love them?”

gross.

And he is right!  My feet are not superheros and the fact that they can carry me so many miles (in my and his opinion) is downright amazing.  So what if they look gross, they are doing their job.

Mentally

Mentally this week my ability to stay calm in the storm has gotten me through.  I’ve been really stressed with work but taking several steps back has been wonderful for me.  Never underestimate your ability to deal with stress!

Brag

This week, I was chosen to be part of a big public health conference in Syracuse.  It is not often an intern gets to go to such an event so I was really excited to go with my boss.  (I do exist outside of working out…somewhat at least).   I put my heart into public health campaigns and I really think it’s showing through!

I gotta be like a real girl and stuff…

Question for you:

Did you PMB?  If not do it here.

  1. This is a great idea and I’m going to have to remember to participate!

Also, I just overheard a cube neighbor at work talking about how much she loves gas station coffee, and I immediately thought of you and your blog. Creepy?? Haha.

  2. This is a great idea! I might try it this afternoon! I don’t think your feet look gross… my toenails are 10000x worse. Given how much you run, I might expect them to be much worse. But congrats on the conference! You deserve to brag, that’s really exciting :)

  3. Trip to Syracuse, hollaaaa! ;)

P–I’ve had an awesome week of workouts, so I’m especially thankful for my legs. Not only do they make it possible for me to swim, bike, and run, but they also let me wander, explore, and meander around the city.
M–Even though I haven’t practiced yoga this week, I’m starting to accept the fact that I can’t force things on the job front. I’m still actively looking and sending out resumes obviously, but it will happen when it happens.
B–I had a great run this morning and an even better session in the pool; I think my swim it starting to improve! :)

  4. YAY on the conference, I’m proud of you and your Pub Health accomplishment!
and I’m proud of my feet too, they put up with so much pounding I can’t believe it!
I hope you’re having a great Thursday Hollie!
    xoxo!

  5. I definitely want to do PMB soon! Congratulations on the conference! P – legs, they are putting up with serious abuse from rugby. M – ability to chillax when needed and not stress. B – coach has been complimenting my tackles in rugby practice lately. I feel like I’ve really grown!

  6. Wow great job on the conference! I’ve never heard of the PMB concept but I really like it!… Uhm let’s give it a go —
P- this week I had blisters all over my feet from dancing all weekend, but I was able to work just as hard in the restaurant as ever (thank you feet!) —
M- I’m starting to come to terms with the knowledge I can dance for fun instead of professionally. It still hurts I had to give up dance college 8 years ago for health reasons, but I should be able to dance because it’s my passion! I haven’t done any dancing for years, but I think I’m ready again :)
B- my mum bought me an IKEA chair and closet as a present and I was able to “reconstruct” the items myself, if there would have been someone else around I would probably have done it together with someone… now I know I can do more than I know ;-)
