I can’t believe today is already Thursday. Dear week, where did you go? You seemed to drag out less since my body is not staring at a black line for 12 plus hours weekly. But once again, that is a rant for another day.
For my morning workout, you guys would be so proud. I bounced out of bed today and before class got my run on. For my lovely blogging babes in the warmer climates of the world, it was 20 degrees here this morning aka warm enough to run outside. After a few ice mishaps and creepy trucker men, I successfully completed my second outdoor run in months.
Then I came back home and made chocolate peanut flour pancakes topped with walden farms chocolate syrup. It was the greatest Post workout fuel known to my body. If I could just live off of chocolate, I think I would. Peanut butter chocolate pancakes are my favorite. (But don’t tell the other flavours.)
On a side note. Is it weird I really like my hair right after a run? It’s not ultra frizzy or ultra gelled up. If you have curly hair and wear too much gel, I’m not too sure why but it looks really slutty and trashy. Like that hair that is crunchy. Ew-I get the willy nillys just thinking about too much gel in my hair. For me, I like really relaxed curls. Personal preference though loves. Okay really, I’ll stop posting pictures of myself soon.
My second attempt of cross training was insanely difficult. First, my speakers didn’t work on my headphones. I think that may be the 4th or 5th set I have ruined. Cool… So I did 45 minutes of an arc trainer (similar to the elliptical but so much cooler) without headphones and without a TV. I wasn’t going to go that long but I felt pretty good and I needed to creep on people. I won’t explain my nonmoral reasoning for creeping, but it was needed.
Lunch today was with Julie! (See I told you guys I have real world friends) We went to our favorite date spot on campus, Dexters and I committed another blogging sin. Same food as Monday. Quiche and sushi salad. I was able to capture it all in one photo this time.
I also got this tuxedo cake that was so good, but I didn’t end up finishing it because I was full. Oh boo.
Well my lovely blogging babes, I’m off to study for my algebra quiz tomorrow. I’m feeling slightly less motivated.
But I’ll leave you with a photo of Caitlin postworkout style.
Question for you:
1. Have you ever blown out headphone speakers? Do you use headphones when you run/workout?

That’s hysterical … I completely agree with you about “crunchy” curly hair. Hair should have shine, but shouldn’t be shiny … that’s my rule, at any rate!
I regularly ruin headphones. I swear I go through a pair every few months. Its kind of crazy!
I’m so glad to know I’m not alone! I have seriously ruined at least 4 pairs!
I feel the same way about my face after I work out. I always look a little more tan!! I wish I was like that all the time! I always have problems with my headphones on the treadmill. Definitely need to invest in a good pair!
muahaha lovely picture!! Um I really like my hair sometimes after working out too but then when the sweat dries it looks mad nasty…
And yes mucho creeping was def necessa today. I think we did good.
I am so terrible I couldn’t find my headphones the other day and decided running without them was not an option. It’s not necessary when I’m at a race or running with other but I cannot run by myself and listen to myself panting=(
I was sweating on my run where it was 40 degrees out! I think I need these pancakes for running fuel asap.
I use my ipod headphones, but they are so uncomfortable sometimes.
Ugh, crunchy hair is so out.
Yes I use head phones but only the crappy I-Pod head phones. They get the job done until they break
Those pancakes look deeeeelish. I need to get some crepes and pancakes in my diet this weekend when I’m home!
I used to always need music when I worked out. Especially running. Lately I have been getting better about not needing it. Running with friends on the weekend = no music, so I think that is helping me break the habit. Plus, I need to get used to no music because I want to do some tri’s this year and they aren’t allowed.
Those pancakes looks amazingly good. Bombtastic, actually. And headphones/ipod is a must for all runs. I don’t think I would be able to run farther than 3 miles without some tunes!
I HAVE to run with headphones…It’s unheard of for me to workout without them. I totally agree about the too crunchy curly hair…Any girl you see with an uberload of gel in her hair most likely has white eyeliner/eyeshadow all over her eyes.
I go through headphones all the time. But I don’t worry too much, becuase I can’t run with an iPod anyway. And get rid of that Walden Farms zero calorie crap. It’s so full of chemicals its much worse for you- you know that!
And what’s with the double workouts? You should keep some of the cross training sessions for recovery days and focus on some more lifting
!
I realized today that you and I have like 4 conversations going on at one, but none of them overlap: blog comments, e-mail, Twitter, and text lol!
Did I miss the email?
Do you know how long it took me cut down on diet soda? Well needless to say it will probably take me a few months to get rid of WF as well.
I’m lifting Wednesday and Friday of this week and then I’ll probably integrate weights for my back and shoulders Tues and Thurs next week.
Girl it’s fine, I live off of chocolate and I am happy as a clam:) Slash ti was a WHOLE 48 DEGREES HERE YESTERDAY! I practically peed myself, I was so excited it smelled like spring:)
I know I was so upset that everywhere else it was in the 70s and for us? High in the 40s.
I usually break my headphones before they blow out — it usually happens when I try to detangle them and they get even more tangled and then before I realize it, I have torn off one of the ear buds. I buy the cheap $8 pairs, maybe I should try a different brand?
I would live off chocolate and PB too — but too much makes me sick, so no good!
Hey!!!
I definitely use headphones to run/workout. I couldn’t imagine what it would be like without them!
I haven’t ever ruined a pair but I do have a pair of red ones that I don’t use…they seem to always fall out of me ears. So I use the ones that came with my iPod even though after an extended period of time they hurt my ears, boo!
I’m so behind on reading blogs…and posting for my own…but I will definitely get back on track! I love reading your blog
If there is no one to creep on the gym it gets a tad boring ha.
I blow out headphones as well – as a matter of fact right now I’m using a pair that only the left side works correctly. Time to go buy new ones
I use headphones when I’m running 8 miles or over but not during races.
I have naturally curly hair as well… I totally know what you mean about the crunchy hair!!
Ahh- too funny- I am the SAME way with hair gel- actually it totally creeps me out- I can’t use it at all..but crunchy hair is the WORST. If I see someone with it I just want to wash it out for them
LOL!

I ruin headphone speakers from wet ears during a swim meet hahaha
I did ruin one pair, but so far so good on this pair haha
and I love the pictures you post!
