Nom nom nom…I’m alive!

My travels to the airport began at exactly 1:47pm when I turned in my last final and shouted-I’m a seinyaa as I left.

Just kidding.

But I did indeed finish my last final at 1:47pm on Thursday and picked up a chicken Parmesan Panini as I left campus to use up my entire meal plan of the semester.

The drive down to the airport was crazy.  It was snowing like no one’s business and there was period of about 15 miles where it was a white out.  This van/car combination was literally fifteen feet in front of us-but looks at the sight difference.

I got finally got home at 1am.  My flight was delayed in Charlotte because all the flights coming in from Philadelphia were delayed causing massive delays everywhere.  Grandma Hollie doesn’t stay up this late ya know?  When I got home, I tried to remember the last time I was awake for so long.  I couldn’t.  How sad.

Nom noms of the day:

I have come to realize I have an addiction with saying nom nom nom.  People sitting and dining with me and I suppose reading my blog, beware because these three words are not going anywhere.

Dark Chocolate Orange Pancake

Denny's Gingerbread Toast

Denny's Cranberry Pancake

On a side note-Denny’s holiday breakfasts are amazing.  Way better than IHOP.  Yeah I said it.

Friday Day Home number 1!  YAY!

As I promised I was having a different breakfast everyday while I’m back. Today was..

Breakfast Wrap filled with 2 eggs, spinach, ham and tomatoes.  If you have ever grilled spiral ham and added it to eggs, steak and eggs has nothing on this combination.  I love eggs and ham.  Green eggs and ham?  Not so much…

My mom and I went grocery shopping today to the commissary.  If you are military, you know all about the amazing deals and random things you find there.  We ended up spending over 400 dollars for groceries but that will last my family a while and me because I’ll be here all of ten days.  We saw this guy in the middle of our neighborhood street.  I live in a suburb, we don’t really get vultures eating squirrels on daily basis…or ever.

I also went for an outdoor run today.  YAY!  Running outside is so much more fun than running indoors on a treadmill.  Minus the snow not being plowed.  I ran about 5.5 miles, which was good for me.  I also got to finally try out my new Nike windbreaker jacket.  I did what it says…break the wind ha.  My pace was a tad slower due to the cold and I don’t want to sprain my ankle on ice.

I also swam today.  Since I’ll be swimming solo style all weekend (they have some big meet), I decided I would swim with my club team.  Swim practice with my club team was more exhausting then swimming with my college.  How sad-ha.

200 warmup

6X200 (1-2 kick-swim, 3-4 pull, 5-6 drill-swim)

6X300 (odds 100im-100free-100 im, evens 100 free-100im-100free)

2(4X75 free, 4X50 free, 4X75free) Hard

200 cooldown

Then I came home for dinner and we were having baked chicken, sweet potatoes and yummy salads.  Excellent and heres salad number 12.

Factual Friday:

I received a few questions this week:

One was more a demand ha.  :)   Here is a photo of my donkey and I.

No you cannot ride him, he is pretty old.  He lives the dream though with unlimited food, his own shed, his own barn and he can go swimming in the creek whenever he wants.  Infact-When we first bought the house he disappeared for a day and we freaked out and then realized he was wading in the creek.

What is your all-time favorite event to swim?

The 1000 freestyle although I do like the mile a lot too.

And of course:  Day 2 of getting to know me is:

Post a picture of you and someone you are really close with for a while.

I actually decided to choose my brother Matt.  He is pretty motivating in running for me and since I went to college we have become a lot closer.  He is coming back from a bad knee injury which crushed his senior year of cross country season.  He wants to go to the Merchant Marine Academy or Naval Academy next year and is working his butt off.  If he goes to the Merchant Marine Academy we will be running in the same championship cross country meet in upstate New York?  How cool is that?

Question for you:

Are you close with your siblings? Do you have siblings?
