Home Sweet Home

As I sit here writing a blog before actually arriving home, I have determined that I need to make some goals while home.  As I was telling Allison, I want to use this break too really dive into not binge eating.  It gives me an entire week away from the dining hall and I’m hoping that once I get settled away from it, it won’t be too difficult to limit my dining hall for the final few weeks of school.

So here are my short term weekly goals for Tuesday-Sunday.

1.       Try at least 3 new meals.  Take a leap of faith. Binge eating is often because you eat the same things-all day everyday.  By trying new things, you are allowing your body some freedom.

2.       Get my swim practices in.  I need to get 3 practices in this week.  In case, you didn’t realize, unless we don’t get swimming in, we aren’t allowed to go home.  That is how varsity teams operate.

3.       Get all my work done.  Let me tell you about next week.  Monday, I have a test and a presentation.  Tuesday and Wednesday-I have a test.  Go figure busy bee.

4.       Relax and don’t overanalyze.  That is when I overeat, wouldn’t you know?

—————————–

Before practice this morning I had a Pria power bar.  I had a few of these leftover from my obsession last year.  They were sold out for a while and then I got tired of them so they sat in my fridge for a while.

It was another practice with the entire team.  If you decided to leave early (or not show up) you had a “punishment” set of 8X800s.  The first 800 was warmup and the last cooldown.  The middle 6 were timed with 15 seconds rest.  I don’t think it sounded too bad but I believe I’m in the minority.

3X400 Pull.  I have come to realize I’m the pulling champion.

14X75s Free Interval

400 Kick

Then I ran back to my room, showered and finished packing.  I ended up just mixing up some Chobani yogurt, protein powder and pumpkin for breakfast.  It was really good.  Then Aram and I picked up Alicia and we were off.

We stopped at diner on the way to Syracuse airport.  It was good as well.  I had two blueberry pancakes and one strawberry.  I was impressed with how crazy the shape of the pancakes w ere.  They had no problems serving irregular shaped pancakes-and I’m not sure why this impressed me so much but it did ha.

Such a strange shape.

We also stopped at Wegmans!  I haven’t been there in ages-I love it.  I had tofu sushi and some concoction of fruit salad in the car ride.   I seem to think grapes, mangos and olives make an awesome salad combination.  I seem to also have an obsession with grapes and olives.  I haven’t had mangos in ages and decided to mix that along with pineapple, spinach and grape tomatoes.

What is your favorite thing that Wegmans offers?

I can’t find the tofu sushi in many places (besides that strange Mongolian restaurant in town) so I always get a lot of that.  Also-Smuckers Sugar Free Pancake Syrup is so yummy.

During my flight, I got a phone call informing me my next flight was delayed.  I didn’t even know they called you when that happened.  Has that ever happened to you?

For dinner, I had dinner in the airport…it ended up costing me 16 dollars for a bowl of fruit, weird roll called prosciutto and mozzarella on ficelle.  It was pretty good although they added too much sauce but its airport food.  I don’t think you can complain much.  I’m glad I decided to try something new instead of going with a grilled chicken salad or something of that nature.  So day 1.  Tried something new.

I had a go free gluten free carrot cake bar for dessert because I was craving something sweet.  It was pretty good but I think I would prefer something not crunchy when tasting carrot cake.  It confused my brain.

Once I finally got home around 9, I had an apple and discovered I need to go grocery shopping for the house.  Thanks mom.  Ha.

Do you have off the rest of the week?
