This morning did not start with a Cliff Z bar, but two “trufFulls.” These babies have 8 grams of protein and 5 grams of fiber, however, they taste like a giant piece of cardboard. Actually-they aren’t giant at all-but a mini piece of cardboard. They held me over though really well and this is the first time I haven’t been starving after practice.
Practice:
6450 yards
1000 warmup
100 kick-100 breastroke-50 fly-50 back
2×200 Backstroke
2X900 Freestyle Interval
7X100 Freestyle pull
2X400 Backstroke
400 IM
5X100 kick
100 Backstroke Time Trial
350 Freestyle Cooldown
Backstroke Time trials were today. Seeing as I haven’t swam anything but the 500,1000 and/or 1650 in two years now-these 100’s don’t do too much for me but waste time. Although the air temperature was freezing so I would have honestly rather been swimming. I would honestly chose to have a 1 mile time trial rather than stroke trials.
Then it was chocolate peanut flour pancakes time with a side of Chobani Vanilla Greek yogurt. I must say, and I don’t mean to shock you, I prefer the chocolate peanut flour waffle better. I’m not sure why but it is just more tasty for me. I think I might be in a pancake lull at the moment.
Insert some classes here. Then lunch at the dining hall. Today they were having a special event where it was local food only. It was probably some of the best food I have had at Lehman in a while. I had trout, grapes, broccoli, squash and stuffing. The stuffing and the rest of the grapes aren’t pictured here.
I had the best run after that (well a few hours after that). I ran 7 miles in 51 minutes. I felt awesome and my baby Newton’s were chucking along. Although-look at these things. Can you believe they are all of one week old? That race from Saturday did a number on them.
I want to try and get over 55 miles in this week because I don’t have a race or meet. I took a rest day on Sunday, but we will see.
Speaking of races. I think I’m going to sign up for a half marathon over my spring break in Albany. The Snickers half marathon! If you have ever read my blog, you know I’m obsessed with Snickers Marathon Bars and they promote their own half marathon. What are the odds, it is only a few hours away from me and on my Spring Break?
What is your favorite distance/event/thing to race?
PS: Look at my stash. It’s growing and that doesn’t even count all those individual containers I have. I’m not sure which is growing faster-my coffee collection or my Greek yogurt container collection. What is your favorite flavor/brand of Greek Yogurt?

I have discovered something funny… I am only famished/starving/hungry after practice If I DO eat. When I go on an empty stomach I guess im just numb to any hunger. Weird.
Inside. I think the air temp is similar.
I am an epic failure at backstroke. I can do it decently enough technique-wise in practice, but cant sprint it at all. Lol and not to mention my backstroke starts! Ugh. I think my best time is like 1:18. Is your pool outside? We dont have to worry much about being cold because our pool water is kept at like 84 degrees.
As far as running – I ran track once and was not a fan. Ive done some 5ks but never anything above that. So my favorite as of now is a 5k!
Nice run. Love when you get a decent distance and a good time with it.
Fage is my fav Greek yogurt with Chobani being the second. Though all Greek yogurt is better than the regular stuff. Really like how creamy it is.
You cracked me up with the phrase, “these babies… taste like a giant piece of cardboard”. In the picture they look so chocolatey and good.
My fav Greek yogurt is Fage 0%. It is so creamy. I have two 32oz containers stuffed in the fridge right now cuz I don’t want to run out. I buy them at Costco, and I only go there once a week. I also have two individual Chobani caramel yogurts, I just love caramel.
sharon, you got me addicted to those caramel OIKOS greek yogurts. ha.
I tried chocolate the other day as well which was just as tasty. My biggest fears include running out of greek yogurt and pancake mix.
I’ve decided that Chobani is officially my favorite greek yogurt. It’s creamy and less acidic then Fage. I also hate that stupid paper thing that Fage puts in their containers.
i LOVE fage!! my fav
and oh my gosh i am in love with those orange shoes- i love anything and everything orange
I love bright and neon colored things. When I saw all the had was neon orange….I wasn’t going to complain ha,
i l.o.v.e.e.e.e.e.e.e.e.e. your blog!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
oh…!!
fage is my #1 lovee!
Love Fage. So creamy and good. You got me craving pancakes by the way.
You are an inspiration of how incredibly in shape you are. I love to run, but not that much! Very inspirational girl! =)
Wow thank you so much that really means a lot. You are too sweet.
i hate it when you are really excited to try something new and it has great nutritional stats and it tastes like crap. booooooo! super cute shoes and i think my favorite kind of plain greek yog is fage 2%. my fav flavored greek yog is chobani pinneapple. yum yum!
Hahaha I like how you clarified “Actually-they aren’t giant at all-but a mini piece of cardboard”. I LOVE your shoes!!! Love your baby newtons! Btw the halloween plates are a set from target. All are different!
great run!
2 X900!! NO THANK YOU! haha.
Even though I use to swim the 500. weird I know!
I have just started eating greek yogurt, I tend to go with yoplait because it is cheaper.
What do you suggest?
I am a big fan of Chobani myself but yoplait has a special place in my heart. I like plain and honey the best.
Don’t you love how it seems all the foods that look delicious and are healthy for you always taste like cardboard. Glad you were able to stomach them to get you through the hunger pains. I am always trying out new protein bars and they always seem to have that “cardboard” taste.
