Local Foods Day

This morning did not start with a Cliff Z bar, but two “trufFulls.” These babies have 8 grams of protein and 5 grams of fiber, however, they taste like a giant piece of cardboard. Actually-they aren’t giant at all-but a mini piece of cardboard. They held me over though really well and this is the first time I haven’t been starving after practice.

Practice:
6450 yards
1000 warmup
100 kick-100 breastroke-50 fly-50 back
2×200 Backstroke
2X900 Freestyle Interval
7X100 Freestyle pull
2X400 Backstroke
400 IM
5X100 kick
100 Backstroke Time Trial
350 Freestyle Cooldown

Backstroke Time trials were today. Seeing as I haven’t swam anything but the 500,1000 and/or 1650 in two years now-these 100’s don’t do too much for me but waste time. Although the air temperature was freezing so I would have honestly rather been swimming. I would honestly chose to have a 1 mile time trial rather than stroke trials.

Then it was chocolate peanut flour pancakes time with a side of Chobani Vanilla Greek yogurt. I must say, and I don’t mean to shock you, I prefer the chocolate peanut flour waffle better. I’m not sure why but it is just more tasty for me. I think I might be in a pancake lull at the moment.

Insert some classes here. Then lunch at the dining hall. Today they were having a special event where it was local food only. It was probably some of the best food I have had at Lehman in a while. I had trout, grapes, broccoli, squash and stuffing. The stuffing and the rest of the grapes aren’t pictured here.

I had the best run after that (well a few hours after that). I ran 7 miles in 51 minutes. I felt awesome and my baby Newton’s were chucking along. Although-look at these things. Can you believe they are all of one week old? That race from Saturday did a number on them.

I want to try and get over 55 miles in this week because I don’t have a race or meet. I took a rest day on Sunday, but we will see.
Speaking of races. I think I’m going to sign up for a half marathon over my spring break in Albany. The Snickers half marathon! If you have ever read my blog, you know I’m obsessed with Snickers Marathon Bars and they promote their own half marathon. What are the odds, it is only a few hours away from me and on my Spring Break?

What is your favorite distance/event/thing to race?

PS: Look at my stash. It’s growing and that doesn’t even count all those individual containers I have. I’m not sure which is growing faster-my coffee collection or my Greek yogurt container collection. What is your favorite flavor/brand of Greek Yogurt?
