Oh Hey Breezy Day

Pete warned me this would happen.  My cross country coach said at about 10 days in, I would start to feel fatigued…not motivated…my runs would stink.  Well here they are.  I am all of the following.

I woke up at 7am this morning and went for a 40 minute run.  Sure, I could have gone farther but I’ll get my other 20 minutes in at another point sometime today.

8:30am-I came back and made strawberry pancakes and had a side of Greek god yogurt.  These pancakes are very simple.  Mix fiber one pancake mix, 1 scoop of protein and some mushy strawberries.  I blended mine and the pancakes were pink.  They were delicious though and just what I needed.

During my run today, I decided I was going to take Sunday off.  I’m sure Pete won’t mind and I think it will be helpful for my body to have a full day of just laying in bed.  Actually my boyfriend and I are going to plan a date that day (I hope) if football doesn’t get in the way boo.

After my doctor’s appointment, my boyfriend and I went to lunch at Dexter’s.  I had soup, a sandwich, and fruit salad.  It seems like a lot I suppose but I need to be eating more to balance out my exercise.

11:30am-Lunch at Dexter’s

Then for the moment, I had been waiting for.  My educational psychology test (boo!)  I think I did pretty well (hopefully) and he should have them all graded soon.  We will see I suppose.  I finished in about 45 minutes and knew a lot of the answers but he tried to trick us on a lot of questions.  For instance, one of the questions was,

What are Piaget’s four developmental stages?

a.       Sensormoter, prepositional, concrete operational and formal operational
b.      Sensormotor, preoperational, concrete operational and formal operational.

The correct answer is nonoperational, but he was a tricky one.

After that I headed towards practice.  Swim team today was another 5000 yards (go figure).  But ah it was an im practice.  For those of you who don’t know, I’m a distance swimmer.  Freestyle distance.  Not im.   I have absolutely no skill in strokes and I’m okay with that.  Anyways-the first four weeks I have to suck it up and do some lovely stroke work.

500 warm-up freestyle
3X300 backstroke
3X400 freestyle
6X100 butterfly
7X200 IM (the death of me I swear)
400 cool down

Then afterwards, I made myself a protein smoothie.  Somewhat protein-more fiber than anything else.  It had 1/3 cup Fage yogurt, 1 Greek god 4 ounce yogurt and ½ cup fiber one cereal crushed with about a cup of strawberries.

Then a lovely trip to Wal-Mart which involved buying grapes.  For dinner, I just ate about 800 grams of grapes.  It’s not sugary ice-cream, so I suppose that’s a start. Does anyone else enjoy the Concord Grape Season? It’s my favorite fruit ha.

8:00pm-I made eggplant, turkey pepperoni and provolone cheese in a bowl.  It was a strange combination but never the less good.  I was going to make a pizza wrap but then I remembered I had a giant eggplant.  I grilled the eggplant then added a layer of turkey pepperoni then added the cheese.  I will have to make it again and my boyfriend surprised me and showed up and had some too.

Now I’m sitting here doing some math homework.

On a side note-I want to add a blog roll.  Is anyone interested in being on my blog roll?  Can someone help create a blog roll?  I tried to add one to my blog today but it was all wordpress links.  :(
